How do I measure my shell scheme booth correctly? +

Measure the panels, not the booth. Your contract says something like 10ft by 10ft, but the graphic has to fit the individual wall panels inside the shell frame, and those are smaller than the nominal booth size. Record the width and height of each panel, note how many per wall, then send those numbers to support@backdropsource.ca and we will sanity check them.

Why can I not just order a standard size? +

Because there is no universal shell scheme dimension. Different contractors build different systems, the same organizer may use one supplier at one show and another at the next, and even within one hall the perimeter booths can differ from the interior ones. Height allowances vary too, so get the exhibitor manual and confirm anything ambiguous in writing.

How do the graphics go onto a shell I do not own? +

Ask the organizer what is permitted before you plan anything, and get the answer in writing. Most contractors prohibit drilling, painting, screwing and permanent adhesives on their panels, and charge for damage, where one gouged panel can cost more than your graphics order. Tell us what your manual allows and we will make sure what arrives suits those rules. Plan the removal too.

Should I order panel by panel or full coverage seamless? +

Panel by panel follows the shell's own divisions, which makes each piece easy to handle and cheap to replace on its own. Full coverage seamless gives one continuous printed surface with no vertical breaks running through your photography or wordmark. The trade-off is flexibility: seamless is cut to one wall and will not adapt if next year's shell divides differently. Panel graphics travel better.

How long does it take to dress a booth on site? +

Allow an hour for a small frontage and a couple of hours for a 20ft wall on your first attempt, and arrive at the start of your move-in window rather than the end. The shell is usually built before you arrive, so your work is unpacking, hanging and straightening. Two people make it quicker, because one holds while the other aligns.

How should artwork be laid out for panel graphics? +

Design the full wall first, then decide where it divides. Printing panel by panel means keeping your logo, key message and any faces well away from the vertical joins. Going seamless gives you the whole surface, but the shell frame still crosses in front of the print in places, so ask us where. Artwork help and a 2D mockup are free.

How do the panels ship, and how do I get them to the venue? +

Shipping to you is free across Canada, and because fabric panels roll or fold flat rather than shipping as rigid boards, they travel in a soft bag or small box. That is a real advantage for anyone flying to a show. If graphics go straight to the show, check whether the organizer accepts advance shipments and what the deadline is.

Can I reuse the graphics at the next show, and how do I store them? +

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on whether the next shell matches this one, which is why seamless coverage is the least portable and panel graphics travel better when the contractor is the same. The reusable part is always the artwork, so keep the print files with the exact panel measurements. Between shows, wash the fabric cool, hang it to dry and store it rolled.

How is this different from buying my own booth structure? +

Shell scheme graphics assume the organizer supplies the walls and you pay only to dress them, which is the cheaper route for one or two shows a year and where most first-time exhibitors start. A magnetic booth kit means you own the frame, so you can exhibit in a bare space or your own showroom. The switching point tends to be the third show.
