How do I work out what size set the room needs? +
Measure three numbers: the usable wall width, the ceiling height under the lowest fixture, and the distance from that wall to whatever is opposite it. The third one catches people out. A five-panel set needs roughly three metres of clear floor in front of it before anyone can photograph the whole thing, so in a narrow room the four-panel set is better. Draw it to scale first.
Will it photograph the way it looks in the listing? +
Better if you light it, worse if you do not. Listing photographs are lit deliberately, whereas a function room lit by overhead pot lights puts a hard shadow under the top curve and leaves the plinth faces dark. The fix is cheap: two lights on stands at forty-five degrees, aimed at the panels rather than at the guests. Stagger the plinths slightly forward for depth.
Can we set it up outdoors? +
For a backyard birthday on a still day, yes. For anything with weather in it, plan properly. These are freestanding frames with fabric panels, not outdoor rated structures, and we do not publish wind figures, so use judgement rather than hope. Weight every foot, keep the set out of a wind corridor between houses, and never leave it standing overnight. Loaded plinths go over first.
How long does assembly take and who should do it? +
Two people and about an hour for a four or five panel set with plinths, less once you have built it before. Most stands assemble tool-free and the parts are light, so this is not a job needing a crew. The time goes into levelling and alignment rather than construction, so do it unhurried the day before. If the venue opens two hours ahead, dry-run at home.
Can we reuse the set, or resell it afterwards? +
Reuse is the point. Frames are aluminum and outlast several events; the printed panels are what date. Leave the year and the age out of the graphic and one set covers a birthday, a shower and an anniversary unchanged. When you want a new theme, keep the frame and the plinths and order fresh panels. Resale holds up for standard shapes, because the buyer is getting hardware.
How closely can you match our colours? +
Close, and we would rather agree it before printing than argue about it after. Send hex codes, CMYK values or a photograph of the fabric, ribbon or invitation you are matching, and we will build it into the free 2D mockup. Two caveats: a colour reads deeper on a backlit screen than on a panel, and venue lighting shifts everything. Tell us which colour is non-negotiable.
Will the whole set fit in a car? +
Generally yes, with the seats down. Panels fold into bags and frame sections travel in cases, so the limiting dimension is the longest tube rather than the overall bulk, and the plinths are the awkward part of the load. Measure your cargo floor with the rear seats folded and compare it against the case length — a hatchback usually manages a four-panel set, a small sedan often does not.
How much weight can the plinths take, and what should go on them? +
We do not publish load limits, so treat them as display columns rather than tables and keep anything genuinely heavy on real furniture. Flowers, balloon clusters, a number, a small arrangement, framed photographs and empty glassware are all fine; a large tiered cake belongs on a proper cake table. One object per plinth photographs far better than three. Stagger the heights.
