How do I prepare artwork for two faces? +

Send two separate files, clearly labelled front and back, both built to the same finished panel size. Do not mirror the reverse yourself — a pre-flipped file usually ends up flipped twice. Say which edge is the top on each, because a hanging panel has no other clue about orientation. If the two designs need to align, put that in writing. Keep both files in CMYK.

Which duplex fabric should I choose? +

Start with how the panel is held. Suspended pieces reward the lightweight Duplex Knitted Polyester (115GSM), because rigging limits, pole loads and sag along the top edge are all functions of grams. A freestanding divider that has to hold its shape wants the heavier Duplex Blockout Polyester Backdrop (300 GSM). Duplex Shiny Satin Polyester reads well under directional light. Send the rigging detail.

Will both sides come out the same colour? +

They are printed from the same CMYK profile, so the intent matches, but do not assume the two faces will be indistinguishable side by side. Fabric receives dye slightly differently on each pass, and satin reflects light in a way that makes an identical build look brighter from one angle. Where a corporate colour appears on both faces, list the Pantone reference.

What does the blockout layer actually do? +

It is an opaque interlayer between the two printed faces, and it stops light carrying one image through to the other. Without it, a bright graphic on the front reads as a faint mirrored ghost on the back. The layer also adds a little weight and stiffness, which reduces flutter on a hanging piece. It is built into every fabric here rather than being an option.

Can I put completely different messages on each side? +

Yes, and it is one of the better reasons to choose duplex. The two faces are independent prints, so nothing about one constrains the other: English on one side and French on the other for a bilingual audience, a corporate identity facing the main aisle and a product promotion facing the seminar room, or a sponsor panel serving two rooms at once. Keep the scale consistent.

Can a duplex panel be washed? +

Yes, and the blockout layer does not change the care routine. The dye is bonded into the fibre on both faces, so a cold gentle cycle without bleach or softener will not lift colour from either side. Air dry rather than tumble drying on heat. Because the panel is thicker it holds moisture longer, so hang it fully open rather than draped over itself.

When is single-sided the smarter buy? +

Whenever the reverse will not be looked at, which is more often than people assume. Walk your own booth plan and stand where visitors will stand.
