Party Backdrop Kits for Birthdays & Events

Most people arrive here with the photograph already in mind and need the hardware that makes it. Shape does the talking: circles are the most forgiving in a small room, hexagons give straight edges to align balloons against, and hearts come flat or deep. Add plinths or a balloon stand and it becomes a set.

We've ordered from several suppliers — none come close to this level of quality and service. Will 100% reorder.

The free 2D design mockup sold us immediately. Exactly what we saw in the preview was what arrived at our door.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which shape works in a small apartment or a narrow room? +
A circle, almost always. Round backdrops read as complete at a smaller diameter than a rectangular one does at the same width, so you get a finished photograph without dominating the room, and hearts and hexagons behave similarly. Multi-panel arch sets struggle, because they need width and standing room in front, roughly two and a half to three metres. Under that, choose a single-shape stand.
What does it take to make these photograph properly? +
Two things people skip: a light that is not the ceiling, and a clear metre between the backdrop and whoever stands in front of it. Overhead room lighting drops shadow straight down onto faces and flattens the print, and one or two lights angled in from the sides fixes it cheaply. Standing against the panel glues the person to the pattern, so step forward a metre.
Can these be used outside? +
Yes in still weather, with real care otherwise. These are indoor-oriented frames with fabric panels and we do not publish wind ratings, so outdoor use is your judgement rather than a rated capability. Weight the feet, avoid the gap between two buildings where wind accelerates, and take the panels off if the day turns. Never leave a stand up overnight.
How long does it take to put up, and can one person do it? +
One person can manage a single-shape stand — circle, heart or hexagon — in twenty to thirty minutes, most of it spent working the panel evenly onto the frame rather than building the frame itself. Multi-panel arch sets want two people and about an hour. Assembly is tool-free on most stands, with numbered sections that push together. Build it once at home first.
Can I use it again, or sell it on? +
Both, and the artwork decides which. Frames are aluminum and survive many events; printed panels are the part with a shelf life. Leave the age, the year and the name out of the design and one kit covers a birthday, a graduation and a shower with no reprint. Standard shapes hold resale value because the next buyer wants the structure. Wash, dry fully, fold loosely, keep the case.
How exact can you get our colour scheme? +
Send the reference and we will show you before we print. Hex codes, CMYK breakdowns or a photograph of the invitation, ribbon or bridesmaid fabric all work, and it goes into the free 2D mockup for approval. Two things catch everyone: a colour on a glowing screen looks more saturated than the same colour woven into fabric, and the room changes it again.
Will a kit fit in my car? +
Usually, though check rather than assume. Panels fold into bags roughly the size of hand luggage, and the frame decides everything because the longest tube section sets the minimum case length — a large arch set has longer sections than a circle stand. Fold the rear seats, measure the flat floor from the hatch forward, then compare. Single-shape stands go in almost anything.
Can we attach balloons and garlands directly to the stand? +
Yes, with a little discipline. Lightweight garlands tie to the frame at the joints without trouble, and a dedicated balloon stand keeps weight off the backdrop entirely, which is better for anything substantial. Two cautions. Do not run tape across the printed face, because it can lift the surface when peeled off. And keep clusters away from the top edge, where weight ripples the print.
How do I order a customized kit? +
Tell us the shape you want, the wall you are filling and the date, and send any name or age you want printed rather than taped on afterwards. We handle the artwork and send a free 2D mockup before printing. Allow two to three weeks in peak season, since May to September is busiest. Email support@backdropsource.ca or call +1 (867) 675-0399. Shipping is free across Canada.
