What is a hanging banner? +

An overhead sign: a lightweight frame with a dye-sublimation printed fabric skin, suspended above your trade show booth so your name reads from across the hall. It is the only part of a booth that works from outside the booth, because at floor level you compete with every neighbour, every crowd and every stack of cases. Shapes run from circles to custom builds.

Which shape should I choose? +

Choose by how people move past you. In an island space with aisles on four sides, a circle or the Four-Sided Pinwheel Hanging Banner Display gives a face from wherever someone stands, and a circle is most forgiving because no angle looks edge-on. On a peninsula or inline booth, a square or triangle can face the flow and holds a wordmark more legibly.

Who actually hangs it, and how do I book that? +

The show's official rigging contractor does, and they are the only ones who can. You order the service through the exhibitor manual or the show's online portal, usually well before move-in, and you submit your booth layout with a hanging point marked. What you handle is having the banner on site, assembled and ready when the crew arrives. Book as early as the portal allows.

How high will it hang? +

That is set by the venue and the organizer, not by the banner. Halls differ in ceiling height, and shows publish their own maximum heights, which vary between inline, peninsula and island spaces. The rigging contractor works to whatever the show has approved for your booth category. What you control is the size of the type: the higher it hangs, the fewer and larger the words.

Can I hang it from my own structure instead? +

Almost never at a trade show. Venues and organizers require anything suspended to go through the approved rigging process, so a solution off your own frame will be refused or taken down. If rigging is unavailable or the cost cannot be justified, the honest alternative is height from the floor, where a freestanding truss tower gives presence with no ceiling involvement.

How does it assemble on site? +

On the floor of your booth, before the rigging crew reaches you. The frame breaks down into sections and goes together by hand: build the frame, fit the fabric skin, attach the hanging hardware, then leave it where the crew can reach it. Use two people and clean hands, because a mark nobody can reach later stays all show. Backlit options need power ordered from the show.

How does it pack and travel? +

The frame breaks into sections and the printed fabric packs separately, so the whole display arrives in a case rather than as one bulky object. Fold the fabric along consistent lines and store it apart from the frame, and check sections and fittings the week before each show rather than the morning of move-in.

How is an overhead banner different from a back wall, and do I need both? +

They do different jobs, and most serious exhibitors run both. The back wall works at conversation range: it sets the colour of your space, gives your staff a background and carries the detail a visitor reads once they have stopped. The overhead banner works at navigation range, getting people to walk toward you in the first place.

What is it printed on, and how do I order? +

Dye-sublimation printed on PVC-free polyester that is machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant and fire-retardant as a property of the material. Assume the banner is read from across the hall, so use the company name, one product word at most and high contrast, repeated on every face.
