How large are these, and how much floor space should I set aside? +

Check the height and depth on each product page, since the three products are built differently and we do not quote a single universal size. Allow the width of the arrangement plus about a metre on each side so guests can approach without knocking a base, and leave two to three metres in front for the camera. Measure ceiling height before ordering.

How many characters should I order, and how do I place the order? +

Fewer than instinct suggests. Two digits for a birthday or anniversary, three or four letters for a name, one short word for a brand moment. Each extra character adds width, transport bulk and setup time, and beyond about five characters people stand in front of the arrangement rather than beside it. Tell us the occasion and room width at support@backdropsource.ca and we will suggest a count.

How long does setup take on the day? +

Budget half an hour for a small arrangement and treat that as generous. Frames assemble without tools, the printed fabric goes over them, and the whole thing stands on its own feet, so there is no rigging, no ladder and no venue technician. One person can manage two or three characters. Avoid dragging a character across carpet once it is in position.

Can I reuse the same display for a different number or word next year? +

The frames are the durable part and reprinting fabric costs far less than a new display, so a fortieth becomes a fiftieth and a company milestone rolls forward. Order the reprint against the original product and note the character you need. Reuse works best through colour: keep the same digits and change the printed colour or pattern. Store the fabric rolled and labelled.

What artwork do you need if we want brand colours or a pattern? +

Send your logo or brand palette and we will apply it at no charge, with a free 2D mockup so you can see how a pattern wraps a three dimensional character. Solid colours and simple patterns read best, while a detailed photograph stretched over a letter form usually becomes unreadable. For press photography keep contrast high, since a pale letter on a pale wall disappears.

How do these ship, and can they be used outdoors? +

Shipping is free across Canada. Order two weeks earlier than feels necessary when a fixed event date is involved. Frames pack down and the fabric rolls, so a small car handles a couple of characters. Treat outdoor use as conditional: these are lightweight freestanding structures and we publish no wind rating, so never leave them out unattended in gusty weather or rain.

How is this different from ordering a backdrop or a partition? +

A backdrop is a flat printed wall that people stand in front of, and a partition divides a room. These are three dimensional objects that people stand among, and their value is being photographed rather than read across an aisle. They do not replace a backdrop; they work best with one, set slightly off centre in front of it.
