Artificial Flower Wall Backdrops

Fresh flowers look extraordinary for about four hours; an artificial flower wall looks the same at eleven at night and comes out again next spring. The range runs from Style 01 to Style 78, so it suits weddings and parties where one wall gets used more than once. Judge density first, then palette temperature.

Frequently Asked Questions

How good do artificial flowers actually look up close? +
Good enough that guests stop checking within about a metre, which is the honest way to describe it. At arm's length you can tell, and that is true of every artificial floral on the market. At the distance people are actually photographed, the difference disappears, and in photographs it disappears completely. What gives a wall away is uniformity, so let the outline vary at the edges.
Will it shed petals or leaves? +
Expect a little movement in transit and very little after that. Anything shipped in a box arrives with a few loose pieces sitting in the packaging, which is normal rather than a fault, so shake the panel out over a sheet before you take it into a venue. We do not publish a material breakdown for each style, so if your venue has rules, ask support@backdropsource.ca before ordering.
What width and height should I be aiming at? +
Start from the photograph, not the wall. For a couple or a cake table, a section about two and a half to three metres wide gives a generous background with room to move; anything wider mostly serves guests standing at the sides. For a full feature wall, measure the usable width and stop about 30 centimetres short of each corner. Height matters more for a standing shot.
How does it photograph under normal venue lighting? +
Better than fresh flowers, with one caveat. Artificial blooms have a slightly matte surface, so they do not throw the specular highlights that make fresh petals sparkle, which also means they never blow out to white under a flash. Under warm hall lighting, creams and blushes deepen and pale greens can go slightly yellow; under a cool LED wash the wall reads flatter.
Can I put one outside? +
Yes for a few hours in decent conditions, with three things in mind. Wind: a flower wall catches air like a sail, so whatever holds it up needs ballast. Rain: water will not destroy it, but a soaked wall is heavy and needs drying before it goes back in a box. Sun: we publish no UV rating, so treat strong direct sun as a genuine fading risk and use shade.
What is involved in installing one on the day? +
Plan on two people and an hour, and treat it as hanging work rather than construction. The flowers themselves need no assembly; the time goes into getting the support level, the coverage even, and the seam where sections meet. Seams are the whole job — offset them so they do not fall in the middle of the frame, and fluff the blooms across the join by hand.
Is this worth buying rather than renting? +
If you have more than one event in mind, usually yes, and the arithmetic is straightforward, since florals rent for a meaningful fraction of purchase price per day. A wall bought for one wedding can serve two or three parties afterwards and stores flat between them. Resale is realistic too, since a flower wall is not personalized to anybody. For one evening with nowhere to store it, rent.
Can you match it to our colour palette? +
We can help you choose the closest styles, and we would rather be candid about the limits. These are ready-made floral styles rather than custom-dyed arrangements, so the honest process is matching your palette to a style, not the other way round. Send your colours and we will point you at the nearest numbered styles. If the palette is exacting, a printed backdrop gives precise colour.
How do I order, and can you help me narrow the styles down? +
Shortlist two or three style numbers, tell us the width you need to cover and the date of the event, and we will confirm what it takes to fill that width and whether the styles are available. If the shortlist is still long, send your colours and we will cut it down. Email support@backdropsource.ca or call +1 (867) 675-0399. Shipping is free across Canada, 1-year warranty.
